Thank you, and farewell

Dear followers and honky-tonk aficionados,

It has been a great year connecting with all of you through this newsletter.

We reached a wonderful crowd of smart, fun, and curious people, and my partners and I have done our best every week to give you something real and country to sink your teeth into. It seems like we succeeded most weeks, since very few of you left along the way. But we simply didn't reach enough followers to keep this going.

Unfortunately, it's just not sustainable to keep this going as a hobby rather than a business — and I can't afford another hobby right now. The ones I already have take up plenty of my time and resources. Because of that, we have to call it quits.

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support. It has meant the world to me. Thank you so much.

I'll continue hosting my weekly show on Swedish National Radio, P4 Country (www.sverigesradio.se/p4country), where I frequently air interviews in English. You can also follow me on Instagram @mattiashansson for regular updates on what brings us together: a shared love of country music.

Shane Smith & The Saints & Honky Tonk Hansson

But before I end this last newsletter, I would like to share a summer memory from Nashville. I had the pleasure to hang out with the fine people of Shane Smith & The Saints. It was a blast. I have been a fan for a long time and all Yellowstone-watchers out there have also heard (and seen) them on the show a dozen times. I simply love their rock-driven Americana country and the rough edges they put to it, while keeping the melodies that echoes of the vast continent that we call America.

So let me end by sharing a playlist of great songs by Shane Smith & The Saints.

All the best,

Stay country!
